Age is based on birthdates between May 1st and April 30th. (i.e. Child A born on February 1, 2013, would be league age 10, Child B born on May 2, 2013, would be league age 9. Both are born in 2013 and would be birth age of 10 while playing this season, but due to age cutoffs, would be different league ages.) See the chart below to find your child's league age.
Baseball:
T-Ball (A) League: Teams will be composed of only registered Dennis Youth Baseball players. Players aged 6 and 5 (league age) are eligible.
Farm(AA) League: Players aged 7 and second-year 6-year olds (league age) are eligible. All returning 8-year-old players who attended tryouts and who are not drafted to the Minor Division will remain on the same team as last year.
Minor League: Players aged 10, 9 and 8 (league age) are eligible. All 10-year-old players who attended tryouts, who are not drafted to the Major Division and who played in the Minor Division last year will remain on the same teams.
Major League: Players aged 12, 11, and 10 (league age) are eligible. There is a limit of two 10 year-old players per team. All 11 and 12-year-olds will be drafted to the Majors, except where safety is an issue.
Babe Ruth: Players aged 13-15 are eligible. Registration will be later in the year. Babe Ruth plays in the summer due to field availability (50/70) and so it does not interfere with school teams.
Softball
Softball designates league divisions based on school grades.
Majors Softball (Grades 4-6) Grades: 4-6 Evaluation Date: Mid-March Practice Start Date: Early April (Weeknights and weekends determined by the coach) Season Start Date: Early May Season End Date: Late June including Playoffs Registration End Date: Prior to Evaluations. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available.
Minors Softball ( Grades 2-3 ) Grades: 2-3 Evaluation Date: Mid-March Practice Start Date: Early April (Weeknights and weekends determined by the coach) Season Start Date: Early May (Monday/Wednesday Nights) Season End Date: Late June including Playoffs Registration End Date: Prior to Evaluations. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available.
Grades K-1 Instructional Softball.
*Players and siblings in Pre-K are welcome to register as well.
Grades: K-2nd Season Start Date: Early May Season End Date: Mid-June (6-7 weeks) Registration End Date: 1 week prior to the season. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available.
